Fushimi — Pianca

Tired of oversized beds as the only means to communicate comfort, Fushimi looks to circumvent the aesthetic status quo with a thin structure featuring sinuous forms inspired by Japanese culture. Looking more specifically to one of the most important sanctuaries of Kyoto, Fushimi Inari, the sleek and elegant frame is distinguished by impeccable Made in Italy craftsmanship, uniting the best of artisan Italian woodworking with an understated Japanese aesthetic. Milled and turned by hand, the solid wood body in either Ash or Walnut flaunts smooth tangential joints, making it ideal to admire at 360° in the center of any space. An upholstered and lined headboard and support platform then complete the piece in slats of curved Beech wood. Made for Pianca, Fushimi was honored with the Good Design Award in 2017.
